JobSpecifications

  1. Candidatesenrolled for aBachelor's degree in engineering, computer science, Geomatics, GISand Remote Sensing, Mathematics or related field.

  2. Candidates in a 4 year program mustbe in either their 2nd or 3rd year while students in a 5 yearprogram must be in either their 3rd or 4th year with a minimum gradeaverage of B in each year of study.

  3. The candidates must have a goodunderstanding of undergraduate level calculus, linear algebra andprobability with a minimum grade of B in the relevant course units.

  4. Computer programming experience ineither Python, C/C++, or R is desirable. The candidate’s CV shouldinclude a link to an online repository containing coding samples(e.g. GitHub)

  5. The candidates must have a keeninterest in developing solutions in areas such as health,agriculture and environmental conservation.



Responsibilities
Undergraduateresearch assistants shallbe expected to work for 20hours per weekon average. Specific duties are as follows;

  1. Investigate machine learningmethods for various applications

  2. Develop mathematical modelsrelevant for data science applications

  3. Design and fabricate IoT devicesfor data collection

  4. Develop data collection pipelinesfor IoT applications

  5. Processing of GIS data

  6. Produce technical reports on tasksperformed

  7. Any other duty that may be assignedby an authorized officer.
